A love of travel, design and hospitality kindred our friendship from the beginning. Through our many trips and talks (usually over wine), we realized we shared passions for truly experiencing local cultures, finding unique travel experiences (cave hotels!), and learning from the people we've met all over the world.

Thus, Ahtel Properties was born so we could create unique and authentic experiences for travelers through unfamiliar (and known) places.

Amanda Wilson, Managing Director

The opportunity to design, create and build properties that get people excited about traveling is what has driven Amanda to start Ahtel Properties with Heidi.  Her background in marketing has provided her the expertise for market research, demand generation, design and customer service that propels Ahtel Properties. But her passion for travel of all kinds - international, urban, country, road trips, motorcycle rides - is the perfect complement for this endeavor.

Growing up in NH, Amanda currently lives in Amherst, NH. She has a fanatical love of her home state and held a real estate license in both NH and MA for many years. She holds a BS in Business Administration from the University of New Hampshire, and has many marketing certifications and awards from throughout her professional career.

When she's not planning the next property, you will most likely find Amanda outside - either on the golf course or riding her Harley along New England back roads in the summer, and on a ski slope in the winter. For those days when she can't be outside, she's likely to be dining out at new local restaurants or trying her hand at creating those new flavors herself cooking at home.

A love of architecture, design and travel as well as a desire to reinvigorate the nostalgia of childhood road trips has inspired Heidi to start Ahtel Properties with Amanda. She is especially passionate about the ability to reuse and redevelop properties that have lost their lure, but can fill a much needed void in today's travel options.

Heidi is a part-time single mom to a guitar playing, soccer loving 9 year old son in Arlington, MA. Although a runner, golfer and an occasional snowboarder she also appreciates access to culture and wonderful restaurants, and longs to be able to spend an easy weekend with her son in the "country", an experience that today is dominated by cheesy hotels or prohibitively expensive resorts.

She holds a master of professional studies in real estate from Georgetown University and holds a BS/MS in computer science from Syracuse University. After spending a few years as a programmer,  she transitioned to marketing for media and entertainment tech companies.
